In this engaging walk through the Metropolitan Museum of Art, we will view 5 pre-selected pieces of art. In an open research approach, participants will be given a small task, after which the group will have the chance to share their thoughts and feelings about the piece and the underlying question of meaningful attention.
Eye tracking will help us to understand the art experience. Our eye-tracking volunteers will get a full recording of their own eye-gaze behavior over the duration of the museum tour. Throughout the experience, we will provide secure data protection and a lot of fun.
Everyone is invited to join the tour: you don’t need a research background or particular interest in art to participate. We look forward to experiencing some art with you!
The Art Eye-Tracking Experience (AETE) has previously been conducted at the National Gallery in London (2023) and at the Gemäldegallerie in Berlin (2022).
